Maple Leaf Whole House Remodel
Despite its charming 1942 ranch-style architecture, this four-bedroom home had an impractical floor plan that restricted the homeowners and their family. The two existing bathrooms were divided between the front and back sections of the house and lead to small, cramped spaces that impeded daily routines. To revamp this home into the modern age, our team undertook a comprehensive renovation of the entire main floor.
The rear bathroom posed a particularly significant challenge for the family and therefore demanded an extensive overhaul due to its confined layout, lengthy vanity, and constricting shower. Fortunately, we reimagined the bathroom layout to retain the existing structure without affecting the adjacent rooms. The new design features a pony wall that extends into the shower, creating a handy ledge for shampoo and other essentials. The bespoke green cabinetry adds a pop of color and visual appeal against the white Zellige tiles that wrap the bathroom walls. In collaboration with the homeowner, we selected a dark slate floor tile that contrasts beautifully with the marble hex mosaic shower floor, imparting a subtle yet sophisticated feel. The transformation of the rear bathroom turned the once-cramped space into a functional and stylish family bathroom. With updated materials and a new, practical layout, the bathroom now caters to the family’s daily needs and makes getting ready a breeze. The expanded space now feels spacious and welcoming, greatly enhancing the overall comfort and enjoyment of the home.
