Fremont Major Remodel
This project was one of our most unique existing conditions to date featuring a double height space with a powder bathroom, and four shipping containers at the back of the building. In this major remodel we added a second story within the double height space, and removed the shipping containers to create a standard single family residence.
Kitchen, Living, and Dining
The main floor features a large kitchen open to the dining and living areas. An entry closet provides definition between the entry and main living space. Warm wood upper cabinetry and green lower cabinetry give the space character, and balance out the neutral polished concrete floor. A thoughtful layout and carefully selected cabinet solutions in the kitchen, such as a utensil pull out, full-height pantry, and open shelf cabinet, allow for maximized storage. The backsplash tile contains several different patterns and textures that add a layer of uniqueness. A contrasting trim color seen throughout the home provides a layer of warmth, and compliments the wood beams, while allowing the white walls to keep the spaces bright. A closet tucked under the stairs houses a water heater and provides a place for larger items to be stored.
Adjacent to the great room is a powder bathroom, with a modern wood vanity and green walls to liven up the space. Matte black accents give the space a modern feel.
Upper Floor
At the stairwell and throughout the upper floor an LVP flooring brings warmth into the space. Continuing the contrasting trim and white walls allows for cohesion with the main floor. At the top of the stairs, there is a laundry nook adjacent to the hallway that leads to the three bedrooms and hall bathroom. The exposed wood beams seen in the hallway are featured in each bedroom as well.
The hall bathroom stays consistent with the color palette of the main floor but plays with pattern and mixed metals. The modern green double vanity contrasts the neutral and warm tones of the checkered tile and brass finishes. The checkered tile flooring continues at the tub surround and into the niche before transitioning into an aligning simple white tile. The mix of black restroom accessories and hardware with the brass plumbing fixtures and lighting add depth to the space. A large skylight centered with the vanity maximizes natural light. This bathroom also contains a water closet.
Exterior
New landscaping, siding, windows, and doors gave the house a much needed refresh. A low profile metal awning, along with the black windows and accents, contribute to the modern feel of the home.
