Ravenna Basement Remodel
The owners of this 1950’s Ravenna home approached Harjo with an unfinished basement and a desire to maximize the space for their family. Their vision also included creating a finished bedroom that doubles as an office and have a safer staircase that allows an elderly grandparent to comfortably move between levels.
What used to be a cluttered, unfinished basement is now a clean, bright space with hidden storage throughout. This project pushed our carpenters to a high level of craftsmanship. All the trim and finish work were skillfully done.
The custom full height pullout pantry hidden behind the stairs was a highlight for the client, as well as the hidden cubby underneath the stairs. Every square foot was utilized! A standout feature is the completely custom handrail that curves and opens up as the stairs widen. The challenge of this project was to deliver a significant amount of storage to a small space. The design creatively added hidden storage and wasted no space.
The design provides a comfortably utilized basement and allows the client’s belongings to be organized well and available to their busy family. The custom pull-out pantry had the client literally jumping up and down, clapping with joy!
